When I was a child my teachers use to ask what I wanted to be when I grew up. I told them "I am an artist." These days, I tell people that I am an artist and they always ask “What’s your medium?” To me art is so much more than pencil marks on paper and paint on canvas. Art can take many different forms - right down to the way one thinks. Art is using imagination to liberate the mind, to think creatively. The intentional act to just paint for the sake of painting or to draw to free the mind from work is a human right. I think art can make a stance against the injustices of the world for a better tomorrow which is why I have recently been exploring art as protest using public performances to engage with people in the community.
